Terms of Service
Last updated [[EFFECTIVE_DATE]]
In plain terms. Cinder is a habit tracker you use on your own device. It's free to start, with optional paid upgrades billed through Google Play. It's a tool to help you build habits — not medical, health, or professional advice. Use it at your own discretion.
1. Agreement
These Terms are between you and [[LEGAL_ENTITY]] ("Cinder", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Cinder app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Cinder on devices you own or control, for your own personal use, subject to these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law.
3. Purchases, subscriptions & freeze packs
- Billing. Cinder Pro and freeze packs are sold as in-app purchases processed by Google Play. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region and over time.
- Auto-renewal. A Cinder Pro subscription renews automaticallyat the end of each billing period until you cancel. You are charged through your Google Play account.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel a subscription any time inGoogle Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the current period ends.
- Freeze packs. Freeze packs are one-time consumablepurchases added to your in-app balance. Once granted to your balance they are generally non-refundable except where required by law or Google Play policy.
- Refunds. Purchases are subject to the Google Play refund policy. We don't process payments directly and can't issue Google Play refunds ourselves.
- Restore. You can restore an active entitlement on a new install using the in-app Restore purchases option.
4. Acceptable use
Use Cinder lawfully. Don't attempt to disrupt, tamper with, or gain unauthorized access to the app, its data, or the systems of Google Play or our service providers.
5. Your data
Cinder stores your data locally on your device. You are responsible for your device and for keeping your own backups (via export) if you value your history. See thePrivacy Policy for details.
6. Disclaimers
Cinder is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Cinder is a self-improvement tool and isnot medical, psychological, or professional advice. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular outcome will result from using it.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cinder and[[LEGAL_ENTITY]] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost habits/streaks, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Changes
We may update the app and these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date above and, where appropriate, noted in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
9. Termination
You may stop using Cinder at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these Terms or misuse the app.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [[JURISDICTION]], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here removes consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
